The Lisbon (or Reform) Treaty was signed on 13th December 2007, and the ratification phase has begun! Following the negative referendum results on the Constitution in 2005 and the political crisis that Europe was faced with, it is crucial to put the EU back on track on the road to unification and out of the period of crisis and instability of recent times. Another negative result could put Europe back to square one. It is imperative to avoid this.
